Landing pages, dark mode apps, email campaigns and printed one pagers all stop fighting the photograph's original setting. Manual masking produces the best single cutout and does not scale past a handful of images. Where cutouts quietly fail
Two failure modes surface repeatedly in production. First, compression artefacts around the alpha edge when quality settings are pushed too low: the car grows a faint crunchy outline against dark backgrounds. Second, semi transparent regions like glass and light clusters, where naive pipelines produce either solid blobs or full holes. Test both by placing a cutout on pure black and pure white and looking at the windows and the roofline. Clean results on both extremes mean the asset will survive any design it meets.
